Ηow to safely use heating devices?
Heating devices, also known as Heating Products (HPs) or Heated Tobacco Products (HTPs), are an alternative device to traditional cigarettes. However, like any other devices, heating devices have their own requirements and ways of operating. Read more to find out the specifics of safely using your heating device.
HEATING DEVICE - WHAT IS IT AND HOW DOES IT WORK?
As previously mentioned, heating devices are an alternative to traditional cigarettes and other tobacco products. They work by heating the nicotine sticks rather than burning it, which is the case with cigarettes, cigars and other traditional tobacco products. Nevertheless, it is important to note that heating devices still contain nicotine - an addictive substance - meaning that they are not completely without risk. As they are relatively new in the market, there is more research needed to be done to show their full effects on the body.
HEATING DEVICE AND SAFETY - WHAT TO KEEP IN MIND?
In general, heating devices are safe as long as you make sure optimal conditions are met. Here are measures you can take to make sure that your device is always working at its best.
HEATING DEVICE REGULAR RECHARGING
A heating device is an electronic device that, like a smartphone, is equipped with a lithium battery. Lithium-ion batteries are very sensitive to voltage drops that can occur as a result of keeping them low for a long time. That being said, recharging the device once in a while, even if the battery is not completely low, is the basis for a well working heating device. If the battery is frequently completely discharged, then it is likely that it gets permanently damaged. It is therefore necessary to charge it regularly in order to avoid shortening the life of the battery.
HEATING DEVICE MAINTENANCE
While regularly charging your heating device is crucial in terms of a trouble-free long-term operation, regular cleaning and properly maintaining the device are just as important. glo™ heating devices come with a special cleaning brush that is included when the device is purchased. This brush is necessary to clean the dedicated hole that is located on the underside of the device. You would need to put the brush and wipe the entire outlet a few times. Keep in mind that you should not clean the device immediately after use as it could still be hot, and you risk getting burned. Thus, it is advised to wait a few minutes before you clean the device.
SAFETY WHEN DISCARDING NICOTINE STICKS
When using a glo™ heating device, special care should be taken when discarding the sticks. Although no tobacco is burned in these devices, it is still exposed to high temperatures and can burn you if you pull it out immediately after use.
The best solution is to wait a few minutes after the session before you proceed to pull out the nicotine stick. Although it is very unlikely that the nicotine sticks’ temperature would be extremely high, it is best to make sure that the heated stick has had time to cool down
