You just changed jobs, you like your new haircut, you finally got that beautiful vase for your entryway, and at the end of the month you have a planned trip abroad with your two best friends. Life is good. You smile unconsciously, you have a light mood, you welcome changes with gusto. You shine.  

The concept of glow up, radiance and renewal has been associated with the beauty sector for years and in previous decades it also included a suspicion of “fixing” – we could only shine when we changed something drastic in our appearance, when we cut out the chocolates, when we took more care of our appearance or when we adopted a current trend. It was a glow that came to be added to our appearance or to our life by external factors.   

In recent years, however, the concept of " glow up " has been redefined to embrace change rather than impose it. We now want the spotlight to shine from within, our bodies and faces to glow from the care and love we show them, our routines to fill us and calm us.

At the same time, we learned to give more space to our emotions, both positive and negative, to accept our most sensitive sides and to prioritize our peace of mind by doing things that fill us.  

The glow up of our generation, then, changes the rules - it comes from within us and fills us with energy and a desire to evolve ourselves with new experiences and meaningful moments. We knew this glow. We always had it within us, like an inner voice that leads us on a journey to find the best version of ourselves. Thus, glow up becomes the slogan that unlocks our bright side and we repeat it like a mantra in all areas of our lives: we glow up in the city, glow up in our music, glow up in our friends and experiences. 

Listening to our inner voice and our needs, we adopt routines that relax us and make us feel light and cheerful. We fill our balcony with colorful pots of flowers and vegetables, invest in their care and watch them grow and evolve every day, creating our own individual urban jungle where we drink our coffee every morning.  

We discover our city from the beginning. Like other tourists, we wander through the historic center, looking at everything as if we were seeing it for the first time. We make a list of new restaurants and bars we want to try, we go out with our friends for a "crash test", we get excited, we acquire new favorite hangouts, we meet new people spontaneously, outside a store.   

And we know even more people and even more places to hang out when we go on a trip. The adrenaline when we book tickets, when we organize our accommodation, the spots we will visit. Waking up early in the morning, the road to the airport, the cities we pass above the clouds, the first routes to our new destination. Here we can be someone else - who do we want to be? Who are we when we can build our identity from scratch?  

The glow we have when we return is not covered by fatigue. It is not enhanced by any makeup or a pair of sunglasses. It is the glow that comes from within us, a personal glow up that belongs to us and makes us radiate.  

It is our everyday life that takes off when we glow up on our travels, glow up in our habits, in our style and in our city. It is our own renewed self, more open to new experiences, more optimistic and open minded, moving forward and evolving with technology, our favorite music, our own mantras as its ally. And it is the inspiration we get from other people's glow ups, separate and unique within the broader glow up movement of our own generation.
