HOW CAN I RECYCLE MY glo™ DEVICE?

Our take back scheme is a way to ensure environmentally friendly disposal. We offer our users to easily recycle their device. If you are no longer using your glo™ device or if it is no longer working, you will find steps on how to return your device below.

Recycling of glo™ batteries in Switzerland

The disposal of used batteries in Switzerland is regulated and the Federal Office for the Environment (FOEN) has commissioned INOBAT to supervise the recycling process. Consumers are obliged to bring used batteries to a collection point. All sales outlets are obliged to take them back free of charge. British American Tobacco Switzerland (BAT) pays the advance disposal tax (“TEA”) ) on the batteries used in glo™ products sold in Switzerland and thus participates in the collection, transport and recycling of household batteries as well as in information campaigns for the trade and the population. BAT has set up its own collection and recycling system for the batteries used in glo™ products sold in Switzerland.

To ensure environmentally friendly disposal, BAT offers our consumers the possibility to return used glo™ devices to us. These are then safely disposed of by us, ensuring that they do not end up in the landfill.

This is how you can do it:

1) Take your undamaged glo™ device you do not use anymore (please send only 1 or maximum 2 devices at the same time, per box).

2) Put the Device(s) in a cardboard box and pack the Device(s) safely (conditions apply; see below for more info).

3) Agree to the requirements for returning your glo™ Device(s) by ticking the below boxes.

4) Download and print the return label below - we will take care of shipping fees for you.

5) Stick the return label on the box and leave it at a local post office.

REQUIREMENTS (*) FOR RETURNING YOUR glo™ DEVICE(S):

- I understand and I agree:

not to ship more than 2 (two) glo™ devices per box with this return label;

not to ship a glo™ device if its battery or the device itself is visibly damaged or modified; and

to ship the glo™ device(s) in a cardboard box in a secure and safe way: it is recommended to use the original glo™ device box or, for instance, the PostPac N° 0. Please make sure that the content inside the box is wedged and padded.

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN glo™ AND AN ELECTRONIC CIGARETTE?

glo™ is a tobacco heated product (THP), whereas electronic cigarettes do not contain tobacco and can be with or without nicotine. With regards to THP the tobacco is heated with the glo™ device, while when using e-cigarette the liquid is vaporized.

WHO IS glo™ SUITABLE FOR?

The glo™ Tobacco Heater is intended for use by adult tobacco consumers only. Always keep your glo™ Tobacco Heater away from children.

HOW OLD DO I HAVE TO BE TO BUY glo™?

You have to be 18+ to purchase any glo™ product. glo™ is only suitable for adult tobacco consumers.

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN glo™ AND A TRADITIONAL CIGARETTE?

glo™ is a different way to enjoy tobacco. Unlike traditional cigarettes that burn tobacco, the glo™ tobacco heater heats tobacco via induction technology. As a result, there is no ash and no smoke since the tobacco is only heated up to 270 degrees Celsius.

WHERE CAN I USE THE glo™ TOBACCO HEATER?

You may be allowed to use your glo™ device in a few more places than traditional cigarettes, depending on Cantonal regulations, as it doesn’t produce ash or smoke. It is, however, important to check the rules & regulations applicable in public areas, restaurants, etc. as it may be restricted to use alternative devices such as vapour or tobacco heating products. Also please be mindful about your environment when consuming glo™ in the presence of pregnant women and children.

WHAT ARE THE ADVANTAGES OF glo™?

glo™ is a different way of consuming tobacco and has several advantages over a traditional cigarette. Since the tobacco is heated with glo™ and not burned, there are no smoke and no ash*. That is also to say that you don’t need a lighter or an ashtray when using your glo™ device. Finally, there are up to 90% less toxic substances with glo™ tobacco heater compared to cigarettes**

WHAT DOES glo™ RELEASE INTO THE ENVIRONMENT?

glo™ doesn’t produce cigarette smoke, nor does it produce ash*. Instead, aerosol is produced as a result of consuming glo™ tobacco heater.

HOW HOT DOES glo™ HEAT THE TOBACCO?

The glo™ tobacco heater heats the neo™ sticks up to 270 degrees Celsius through induction technology.

HOW DOES HEATING INDUCTION WORK?

Inside the glo™ tobacco heating device, an alternating current is passed through a wire coil. The effect of the alternating current is the generation of an oscillating magnetic field. This then allows eddy currents to flow through the “resistance” of the material, causing the heating chamber to heat up the tobacco neo™ sticks.

WHAT ARE THE DIFFERENT NICOTINE LEVELS IN neo™ PACKS?

There are no different nicotine levels found in different neo™ packs/flavors. The general nicotine level of neo™ sticks is not comparable to that of traditional cigarettes as there is no combustion process. This, however, does not necessarily mean that this product is completely risk-free.

You can store your neo™ sticks at room temperature in its original pack.

CAN I LIGHT MY neo™ STICK?

No! Neo™ sticks should never be lit. It is created specifically for heating purposes.

WHAT IS THE BEST WAY TO DISPOSE OF MY neo™ STICKS AFTER USE?

You should always throw your used neo™ sticks in a suitable trash can. Make sure that the stick is not hot after use and has had time to cool down. The best solution would be to dispose them in a residual waste bin such as your household waste.

WHAT ARE neo™ STICKS?

The neo™ stick is a tobacco filled stick specially designed to fit the glo™ tobacco heater device. Unlike conventional cigarettes, it should not be lit nor burned as it is only suitable to be heated by the glo™ tobacco heating devices.

WHAT OTHER STICK ELEMENTS (APART FROM BLEND) HAVE BEEN CHANGED IN THE UPGRADED neo™ STICKS?

There is no significant difference on any stick elements apart from the blend. The main difference is that the new blend is made with authentic tobacco leaves which have gone through less processing.

WHAT FILTER TYPE IS USED FOR THE NEW VARIANTS (IF ANY CHANGE)?

The same filter type is used as was previously used across all neoTM variants. It consists of three parts: tube part, cellulose acetate part and paper tube component.  In new the variants the pressure drop for the cellulose acetate part is higher vs previous variants.

WHAT IS THE SHELF LIFE OF THE NEW UPGRADED VARIANTS?

The product can be fit for consumption for up to 18 months if stored under recommended ISO conditions.

HAS THE NICOTINE LEVEL CHANGED VS PREVIOUSLY USED BLENDS?

The nicotine delivery from the new blends, when used with same device, varies from product to product, and is considerably higher – up to double the emission amount from previous blends of neoTM variants. This is based on laboratory testing and may not be representative of actual consumer behaviour.

Our shipping fees are 10 CHF. We offer free shipping with a minimum order value of 40 CHF.

It can take up to 1-2 working days for your order to be delivered. We will let you know once your order has been shipped.

CAN I TRACK MY PACKAGE?

Yes, you will receive a tracking number in our email confirming the shipment. We are using the Swiss Post, so you should expect delivery within 1-2 working days.

CAN I ADJUST/UPDATE MY SHIPPING ADDRESS?

HOW DO I CREATE AN ACCOUNT?

HOW CAN I DELETE MY ACCOUNT?

Once you login to your account, you can go to your profile . You will find the section to delete your account. Once you confirm, your account will be deleted, and all your data will be removed.

WHY DIDN’T I RECEIVE AN EMAIL AFTER REGISTERING?

After successfully registering on the website, you will receive an e-mail to verify your e-mail address. If you have not received this, check your spam folder.

WHAT DO I DO IF I FORGOT MY PASSWORD?

You can always request a new password on the login page by clicking on "forgotten password". You will then receive an email with a verification code. Once you have verified the code, you can create a new password.

WHAT SHOULD I DO IF I HAVE NOT COMPLETED THE REGISTRATION AND MY ACCOUNT IS NOT WORKING?

If you only completed the first step of registration (verifying your email), your registration has not been completed. Please note that you have two hours to fill out the second form, otherwise your account will be deleted for legal reasons, and you will have to start the registration process again.
